Current Mood: optimistic
So, I don’t want to get too ahead of myself, but I have some great news which I think is solid.
This last weekend, Ten Ton Truck auditioned a new drummer and a second guitarist to work with me. Both of them are great guys, both huge Smiths fans (the guitarist had Johnny Marr pictures all over the wall of his studio), both excited to join the band. So now we are five, and I believe, complete.
But that’s not even the biggest news. It seems we will be having our inaugural gig at Popscene at the Live 105 Meat Is Murder Smiths/Morrissey anti-Thanksgiving event, which takes place, naturally, on Thanksgiving. So I guess it’s not 100% sure yet, but it’s looking pretty good. The guys are talking about doing a “warm-up” gig before that (perhaps Thee Parkside?), assuming there’s an opening. Are you as excited and nervous as I am? Probably not.
And now, I’ll open it up to some questions:
Isn’t it true that Popscene is the same stage that you saw the Cardigans on?
Is this the same club Andy Rourke (former Smiths bassist) guest DJs at when he’s in California?
Is this the hipster club you used to frequent with Jared? And now you’re going to be on stage there? At a Smiths event no less?
This may be a stupid question, but is that right bitches?
Yes, as a matter of fact, that is right bitches. Thanks for asking!
OK, time to go to bed y’all. More details when I get them. Cross your fingers. I know it’s gonna happen… someday… to me.
